Fostering Engagement in Times of Uncertainty

During this time of uncertainty, educators are exploring new and effective ways to engage with their students, families and school communities. Together we will share strategies for supporting active engagement and discuss ways you can capture new learnings for personal and professional reflection.

We invite educators to continue to learn and grow with these resources. Discover and collect new ideas and examples relevant to you after viewing the session video and related resources. Take notes and reflect while you view so you can customize the techniques for your own remote learning and classroom needs and adapt the strategies for your students. Let these guiding questions support your reflective practice after viewing the session and/or reviewing of session materials:

  1. What strategies have you implemented to support your own work, i.e. schedule, work environment, and/or setting to promote consistency and structure to your lesson planning and teaching needs?
  2. How have you adapted your teaching practices to support the transition to remote learning? What has been successful? What have you had to modify and/or adjust?
  3. In which ways are you continuing to foster relationships and build empathy in your remote learning situations?
