Army Education Outreach Program (AEOP) Research and Evaluation

The Army Education Outreach Program (AEOP) provides both students and teachers with a collaborative, cohesive $10 million-per-year STEM outreach portfolio of Army-sponsored STEM programs that effectively engage, inspire and attract the next generation of STEM talent through K-16 programs and expose them to Department of Defense STEM careers. Nearly 40,000 participants each year engage in STEM competitions, STEM programs and STEM apprenticeships spanning high school through college. The Department of Defense has invested collective legislative resources in building a STEM literate citizenry.

Dr. Johnson serves as the Director of Research and Evaluation, and her research directly informs program direction, policy, investments and continuous improvement for this pivotal collection of programs that engage youth and adults in STEM – often resulting in influencing them into pursuing STEM programs and careers in their future.
