After ten years as an aquarium educator, Megan came to NC State to work with Dr. Jones in the Science Education PhD program. Her research focuses on informal science education. She is particularly interested in the professional development of museum educators. She has conducted a nationwide survey on science museum educators’ perceived levels of skillfulness in different aspects of their jobs. The results of the survey will be used to improve professional development opportunities for informal science educations. Megan’s interest in informal educators’ professional development earned her a Graduate Research Fellowship from the National Science Foundation.
