After ten years as an aquarium educator, Megan came to NC State to work with Dr. Jones in the Science Education PhD program. Her research focuses on science capital, science family habitus, and informal science education. She is particularly interested in the development of youth science capital and family science habitus as well as professional development of museum educators. Megan’s interest in informal educators’ professional development earned her a Graduate Research Fellowship from the National Science Foundation.
Her current work is examining the effects of FAME on the youth and parent participants. Megan’s research is supported by NSF Grant No. DGE-1252376.
