“Unmute Yourself”: Leveraging Digital Tools to Facilitate Meaningful, Rigorous and Equity-Minded Classroom Discourse

Classroom discussions are at the crux of literacy learning—significant vehicles for exploration, collective meaning making, perspective taking, argumentation and engaging in disciplinary demands. But this academic year, as many of us adjusted our pedagogies to digital landscapes, facilitating classroom discussions has proven to be a challenge. Join the New Literacies Collaborative, part of the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation, in a tailored exploration of how to leverage digital tools to facilitate meaningful, rigorous classroom discourse without losing sight of equity-mindedness. The New Literacies Collaborative is providing 10 hours of PD, beginning April 21 at 4 p.m. E.T., for the North Carolina Reading Association.
