Co-Director, Quality Teaching for English Learners (QTEL), WestEd

Aida Walqui directs the widely acclaimed Quality Teaching for English Learners (QTEL) program, which provides teachers and leaders nationwide with approaches for increasing the academic success of English language learners. In addition to QTEL, she has led WestEd’s Teacher Professional Development Program for 20 years. Walqui has published extensively on the education of English learners and is frequently invited to speak on teacher growth in school contexts characterized by cultural and linguistic diversity.
