Join the Friday Institute’s Technology Infrastructure Lab (TIL) team for this cross-talk session about their work. The TIL is constantly analyzing new technologies to see where benefits can be realized in the state entities. By working across multiple organizations including K-12, community colleges, universities, nonprofits and the state’s Department of Information Technology, this diverse team has a bird’s eye view of many initiatives and can often identify opportunities for collaboration, help achieve economies of scale, and lead the development and implementation of new education solutions/services. The TIL projects range from wireless broadband research and prototyping equitable access to engineering tools for K-12, modernizing statewide business systems, leading training development for national workforce development programs, and developing and leading the new K-12 cybersecurity program for North Carolina. This presentation will give an overview of the team and outline the individual projects recently completed, underway and upcoming.
Friday Institute cross–talk sessions give internal teams an opportunity to briefly share a portion of their work and stimulate discussion across all teams at the Friday Institute and College of Education to further collaborations, introduce new concepts, address research design problems and more. RSVP to Jonathan Barbee at firstname.lastname@example.org.
