Session: Easy STEM projects to impress students, parents, and administrators
One of my favorite things to do is combine all the elements of STEM into a single activity. I like to use Augmented and Virtual Reality to do this. In this class, we will touch on 4 different AR and VR tools to use with K-5 students, however, these tools can be adjusted to use K-12. The 4 tools are Quiver, Panoform, Merge Cube, and CoSpaces.
- Panoform: Free, Any Device
- Quiver: Free and Paid, Mobile Device
- Merge Cube: Techincally Paid or Print Out, Mobile Device
- CoSpaces: Free and Paid, Any Device
I have been teaching for over 22 years and 17 of those have been teaching technology. I spent 3 years teaching STEM, Makerspace, ICT, and technology integration at international schools in Germany and England. I love travelling! I have lived in 5 different countries and have visited 40 countries and counting. I have been teaching STEM at Laurel Park Elementary since coming back to NC in 2018. I am a Seesaw Ambassador, Google 1 and 2 Educator, Screencastify Master Screencaster and Raspberry Pi Certified Educator. I have a passion for physical computing, video production including green screening, engineering design challenges, and augmented reality. My favorite thing about teaching is to see students and teachers come and tell me how they used what they learned in my class at home or in their classroom.
