Session: Drive-thru Lunch Bunch: Tasty Engagement Ideas to Build Classroom Community
Come pick up some tasty ideas and feast on engagement strategies in a fun, fast paced 20 minutes session. You will participate in engagement activities that you can use with your students and share with your colleagues. We will include inclusion protocols that help build classroom community with your students, whether you are face-to-face or virtual, while keeping them actively participating in lessons during class and independent work times. So hop on, no cash required! We are providing a truly free and tasty lunch experience!
Wanda Hanley has been an educator for over twenty years. She started her career in Wake County Public Schools. She is fluent in Portuguese as a second language and often uses her bilingual talents to make students from Brazil feel at home in North Carolina. She has always been a passionate learner, which has led her to investigate and integrate digital media. Wanda is a Digital Learning Coordinator for WCPSS, who supports teaching and learning by offering a variety of services to help teachers effectively plan and use digital resources to advance student learning. She is Google Certified, Seesaw Ambassador as well as earning a Discovery Education Certification in 2019. Wanda lives in Apex NC with her husband and enjoys weightlifting, camping, and hiking outdoors as well as seeing her sons when they pop back in to visit.
Juliette Kuhn started her career in Missouri and is an avid Missouri Tigers and Cardinals fan. She came to North Carolina to pursue her graduate degree in Instructional Technology. Juliette has been an ITF in WCPSS since 2000 and is currently a Digital Learning Coordinator for Wake County Public Schools. Juliette enjoys having the privilege of supporting and learning from teachers throughout the Wake County Public School system. She strives to learn something new every day that will encourage students to be engaged, curious and develop a love of learning! She is a Google Certified Trainer and Educator as well as a Seesaw Ambassador. Juliette enjoys spending time outdoors running, biking, and hiking with her husband and children (when they can make time in their busy schedules).

We will be posting the video recording in this space a few days after the session is completed.
Please be prompt as participation credit will only be awarded for those participants who arrive on time and stay for the duration of the session (20 minutes). You will be asked to complete a sign-in form and feedback form for every session you attend and your participation will be tracked for the awarding of CEUs which will be presented at the end of our series (May 25th) via email.
CEU credit is not awarded by the Friday Institute for recorded viewing of session content. Please work with your Central Office on how to receive educational credit internally.
