FI Connects | An Education Community of Support

Learn together. Share together. Be together.

Agenda   |  Join the Discussion

As the COVID-19 crisis puts a severe strain on school resources and public health, the opportunity to come together with like-minded people to tackle the challenges ahead is needed now more than ever.

The Friday Institute of Educational Innovation’s Professional Learning and Leading Collaborative (PLLC) is leading the discussion series entitled, FI Connects: Learn, Share, and Be Together, a solution-based forum for all involved in this transition to distance and remote learning and teaching. Role-alike discussions for elementary and secondary principals, coaches (ITFs), and elementary and secondary school educators.

During these discussions, the PLLC team facilitates conversations around best practices, resources, and ideas, but we will also spend time creating opportunities to collaborate, share, and ask questions of your colleagues from around our nation and the world in an effort for us to lift the load together.

You can come to listen, to talk, but most definitely to learn together.

Since beginning on March 18th, 2020 we have been diligently working to provide multiple opportunities to connect. In order to continue to bring you quality information and support, we are scaling back our discussions, but FI Connects is not going anywhere and will return to support the 2020-2021 school year.

We will be updating our calendar of events regularly and encourage you to sign up to receive email updates, as well as review recordings of past FI Connects discussions. In the meantime, reflect and relax. If you have any questions, please contact us at

And if you are looking for some capacity-building resources while you wait for FI Connects events, the Friday Institute recently partnered with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction to provide professional learning opportunities for educators in support of their transition to remote learning during the COVID-19 crisis: the project is called Remote Learning for NC Educators.

Through the Remote Learning for NC Educators project, over the course of six weeks, sixty-one sessions across eight focus areas engaged over 13,500 educators. Recordings, guided questions, and print materials are available at

The agenda below will help guide you.  We are using a University safeguarded Zoom account, but be advised you will be in a ‘waiting room’ before entering the group Zoom.
