The Friday Institute is a center for bringing together educational professionals, researchers, policy-makers and other community members to foster collaborations that improve education. Friday Institute researchers, College of Education faculty and our partners lead seminars, provide professional development opportunities and convene during conferences to address the major challenges of preK-12 education in North Carolina and the United States.
Located on NC State’s Centennial Campus, where university, corporate and government entities are intertwined in an R&D community that sparks innovative thinking, the 33,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art Friday Institute facility includes meeting spaces capable of hosting events and workshops on-site for up to 125 educators and partners. There are six large, modular meeting rooms equipped with advanced and easy-to-use multi-point audio-visual systems, video and audio recording equipment, large-screen LED monitors, HD video cameras and a SIP-based VOIP communications system with speaker phones. All systems are designed to support and encourage collaboration both onsite and with remote-based educators, school teams and partners. A full-time event, AV and technology staff is available for on-demand support for project activities, including workshops, meetings and events.
