Preparing to Teach Mathematics with Technology [PTMT II]
PTMT II is the second phase of a Course, Curriculum and Lab Improvement (CCLI) project funded by the National Science Foundation. The goal of the original project (PTMT I) was to develop and assess a curriculum module (including a videocase) for preparing teachers to teach statistics and probability concepts using technology. PTMT II has two goals: (1) to create and assess new curricula materials for preparing mathematics teachers to teach geometry using technology, and (2) to assist mathematics teacher educators in implementing the modules at their universities. This project addresses the Friday Institute’s goals of developing innovative teacher professional development practices and resources and improving 21st century teaching and learning. The 4-year project will end in September of 2012.
