Evaluation of NASA NET
The National Institute of Aerospace (NIA), in collaboration with the NASA Office of Communications Planning (OCP) and other partners are building NASA Education Television (NET) into a viable product that is available, at no cost, to every school in the country via the internet. This collaboration will contribute significantly to a technologically literate 21st Century workforce.
NIA proposes to develop educational programs in short segments of 5-15 minutes in length. The content will be customized into manageable learning packets to better accommodate a teacher's instructional schedule. These packets will be augmented by lesson plans and teacher training to support the use of best practices and effective implementation in a 21st Century classroom.
The Friday Institute Evaluation team is working with NIA/NASA to develop a comprehensive evaluation of this initiative over the next two years.
