Tech Group Wins Grand Prize in Video Contest
Members of FI tech group win the grand prize in VMWare's Virtually Famous Video Contest.
October 22, 2007 --Lodge McCammon, Brian Bouterse, and Sammie Carter were awarded Grand Prize for their video "Virtualized Hardware Hotel" on stage at the VMworld 2007 conference in San Francisco early this fall. Their wining entry video can be found here.
"Virtualization is a fun, exciting technology. We wanted the video to have the same feel", said Brian Bouterse, Friday Institute Network and Systems Specialist.
While the video is "fun", efficiencies created through virtualization are serious. The Friday Institute leverages VMware along with other virtualization solutions to bring these exciting technologies to K-12 environments. Looking forward, the Friday Institute's technology group wants to expand their virtualization knowledge to help schools better server their students.
All winnings from the contest have been donated back to The Friday Institute to fund future initiatives for teachers in North Carolina.
