FI Seminar: Turn on Common Core Math: Unpacking the Learning Trajectories for Teachers
Our Speaker: Dr. Jere Confrey has conducted research in children’s learning of mathematics for her entire career. She is, however, also committed to practical and strategic improvement of mathematics instruction and assessment at the classroom as well as the national level. She was a member of the Voluntary Common Core State Standards Validation Committee. Her attention in the past year and a half has been on analyzing the CCSS for support of learning trajectory development, user-friendly representations of the CCSS, and strategic approaches to state and district implementation. She has given presentations on this work at three MSP PI meetings nationally, two state level mathematics teacher organizations, and to numerous policy groups (CCSSO assessment groups, NAEP designers, Hi-Five organizers, and the Wake County School Board).
