MINDSET Probabilistic Workshop
The MINDSET (Mathematics INstruction using Decision Science and Engineering Tools) team will be holding a two-week workshop at the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation. This workshop will focus on the 4th year secondary mathematics curriculum that the MINDSET Project is developing.
Twenty teachers from NC and MI will be introduced to the 2nd semester of the curriculum by the research team from North Carolina State University and Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. The teachers will then pilot the curriculum in their classrooms in the upcoming school year and provide feedback to the research team. The input and feedback from the teachers is a critical part of the development process.
The curriculum authors Dr. Robert Young, Dr. Karen Keene, Amy Craig, Krista Holstein, Richelle Dietz, and William Scott from NCSU and Dr. Ken Chelst, Dr. Tom Edwards, and Jay Johnson from WSU will facilitate the workshop.
